About MD Metals
An Illinois steel service center focused on narrow, heavy gauge processing since 1990.
Built around specialized processing
Michael Dallek founded MD Metals in 1990 around a gap he saw in the market: narrow, heavy gauge slit coil was genuinely hard to source. The equipment and processing range grew from there — early slitting capability topped out around .250 inches thick by 1 inch wide, and has since extended to .280 inches by .75 inches and .250 inches by .625 inches. Edge conditioning grew the same way, from a single light gauge line to seven lines today, now covering .400 inch material with full round edges and square-edge custom flat bar.
Its Chicagoland, Illinois operation serves buyers in stamping, roll forming, hardware, agriculture, automotive, furniture and other manufacturing markets.
